Essay

Thesis

V for Vendetta, 2005, is futuristic representation of a dystopian Britain. A very accurate prediction, in fact, as in the film media manipulation is a key theme as the media is what caused the citizens to be oppressed and become prisoners within society; sounding familiar as currently within our society, media is one of the most important factors for our society to be able to run, we rely on media to keep us up to date and to show us rights and wrongs. The film is trying to convey the message that if we continue to allow ourselves to be empowered then  we will become a society of oppression, the film shows us that if we want change we just need to band together to make a change, before we get treated like prisoners and loose our free will.

  1. Some good points made, and the thesis has relevance to the question particularly in the messages.

To improve: The main body need far more depth (not in terms of words as it is an outline) but in it's analysis of the examples - the scenes need to be described rather than 1 word responses as it is impossible to read your analysis as to how this is achieved and the purpose. Again the conclusion has no content.

I think it is crucial that you are paired up with another student and that you come to class prepared b reading ahead if you are to be successful. You will need to use the Film Studies blog more regularly and I would suggest we timetable a 30 minute session once a week with a Yr13 to review what you have missed as the clash will make it difficult for you to achieve.
